We are happy to provide a kosher meal option for campus diners who keep kosher.
Whether you are on a meal plan, or using Rollover Discount Dollars or Munch Money, you must first opt-in to the kosher program through UAlbany ID Card Services or your Mobile ID.
We can also accommodate additional dietary restrictions with kosher meals, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free when noted on the pre-order form. There are two options for getting kosher meals:
518 Market
Though we don’t operate a kosher kitchen, we do receive kosher meals made fresh by a local market with a kosher kitchen. Students who pre-order can pick up their meals from the cooler at 518 Market, heat and eat. There's even a dedicated microwave at the Campus Center for heating these meals! The menu for the kosher meals is available online. These meals can be purchased with meal swipes, Discount Dollars or Munch Money and are available by PRE-ORDER only. The kosher pre-order form is sent twice a week once students have opted into the kosher program online. It is important that students ordering a kosher meal pick up their meal. If a meal is ordered but not picked up, the meal cost may still be charged. Repeated failure to pick up meals could result in termination of eligibility to order kosher meals at 518 Market.
Shabbos House
You can also use your meal swipes, Discount Dollars or Munch Money for kosher meals at Shabbos House, located just off campus at 320 Fuller Road. Some Shabbos House community meals and events are also available without a meal swipe or Discount Dollars. Visit the Shabbos House website for more information/updates on their meal schedule and menus.
